After a short break from performing over the winter period, Chester Big Band are back with a vengeance!
The band, who have spent the past few months rehearsing new music to add to their already extensive catalogue, have announced three major public gigs over the summer months - each one completely different to the next, testing the band's versatility and offering a great opportunity for anyone to enjoy the band's varied repertoire.
Saturday 27th May - Chester Contemporary: The Feast on the Lache
As part of 'Chester Contemporary', a new biennial visual arts festival, CBB are delighted to host the afterparty of 'The Feast': a community celebration involving local groups, schools and organisations; this outdoor festival will see local roads closed and a dish served to all attendees, whilst community groups parade and local heroes are celebrated. The band will then provide the soundtrack to a joyous party, playing to the (hopefully) dancing crowds from the top of a roundabout - a first for CBB!
Time: TBC (mid-afternoon)
More details to follow
Saturday 3rd June - Chester Big Band: Live at Storyhouse
In arguably their biggest gig to date, CBB own the stage at Chester's Storyhouse for one night only - presenting a programme jam-packed with favourites from the world of jazz, swing and soul. This promises to be an exciting evening of entertainment, and the perfect opportunity to see and hear the band at their finest!
Time: 19.30
Tickets: £12.50 from Storyhouse website
Sunday 9th July - International Eisteddfod, Llangollen
Following their first performance at the festival in 2022, CBB are back - this time not only to perform, but also to compete! See the band pit themselves against some of the finest community bands around, before catching them in a special one-hour performance slot on stage in the main festival.
